Templecats - the 'easy care birman'.

Templecats, are simply , a short haired birman much as an Exotic is a short haired Persian.

The Templecat was the brain-child of Mrs June Mateer in 1997. She was a  well-known Birman breeder of long
standing who had also served on the Genetics Advisory Committee of the New Zealand Cat Fancy and who later served on the Genetics Advisory Board of CATZ Inc, and in due course became Director of Corporate Services and Registrar for CATZ Inc.

Templecats are  fully registered  with New Zealand Cat Fancy and Catz inc NZ.

My registered breeding prefix is Nzuri is Kswahili for ' beautiful' and is a very apt description of the Templecat.

I have  been joined in the Templecat programme by experienced Birman breeders Sandy Steward and Pauline Van der Hoorn,( Fancypawz and Catzago)  based in Auckland, and David and Jacqui Scadden ( Magwai) based in Rotorua.
