Nzuri is Kswahili for ' beautiful' and is a very apt description of the Templecat.

The first templecat was bred in 1997.
The Templecat was the brainchild of Mrs June Mateer, a foundation member of the Birman Cat Club of New Zealand and a member of the NZCF Genetics Advisory Committee.
Templecats are  fully registered  with New Zealand Cat Fancy and Catz inc NZ.

I have  been joined in the Templecat programme by experienced Birman breeders Sandy Steward and Pauline Van der Hoorn,( Fancypawz and Catzago)  based in Auckland, and David and Jacqui Scadden ( Magwai) based in Rotorua.

Pictured  above is Kasario Handel's Messiah, a 6 month old sealpoint templecat.
